Travel greener with Interrail Pass for Erasmus+! Flying doesn't have to be the default for you Erasmus+ mobility. The Interrail Pass for Erasmus+ offers a single-ticket solution for flexible train travel across Europe, making greener mobility easier for students and staff - now and in the future.
 Giveaway: Interrail x Tallinn University Student Mobility Centre is giving away 4 Interrail Global Passes (for 7 travel days) to outgoing Erasmus+ students planning their study mobility for next academic year. The giveaway invites you to rethink how you can travel abroad - explore train connections, choose flexible routes, and discover alternatives to flying - all with one pass!

Terms and Conditions:

  •       you are going abroad for a long-term study mobility with Erasmus+
  •       the study mobility takes place in the 2026/2027 academic year
  •       more than 50% of your round trip (to the destination and back) needs to be sustainable (trains, busses, carpooling with other students, bike)
  •       the pass covers 7 travel days. Seat reservations may be required for some trains, at an extra cost (covered by the student)
  •       the campaign runs from 15 February to 3 March, and entries can be submitted during this period
  •       each train pass is personal and non-transferable

To enter giveaway:

  •       indicate your wish to travel sustainably in your Erasmus+ exchange application
  •       include in your motivation letter: 1) why you want to travel to your Erasmus+ destination in a green way, and 2) your idea or plan for how you would like to make the  journey. A detailed itinerary is not required - what matters most is your genuine motivation and interest!

Interrail Pass for Erasmus+ for your more sustainable travels

Whether you enter the giveaway or not, the Interrail Pass for Erasmus+ is a long-term option for students who want to travel more sustainably during their mobility. The Pass can have 4 or 6 travel days that you can use within 6 months. With the Erasmus+ Pass, you can travel flexibly in up to 33 European countries! Also, every Interrail Pass holder benefits from a 20% discount on overnight sea journeys on Tallink Silja Line ships. On Helsinki-Tallinn fast ferries, the discount is 15%.

Erasmus+ green travel support

If more than 50% or your round trip (to your destinations and back) is completed using greener transport, such as trains buses, car sharing with students, or bike, you may apply for Erasmus+ green travel support.

This support offers additional funding for longer travel days, helping reduce time pressure and making sustainable travel more accessible. In many cases, the funding can cover the cost of an Erasmus+ Interrail Pass.
