Cyprus NGOs Delegation Participates in Social Entrepreneurship Training at Tallinn University

From October 7th to 12th, Tallinn University hosted a dynamic group of participants from Cyprus, representing various NGOs, for a transformative 5-day Training Course (TC) on the Basics of Social Entrepreneurship Spirit. These changemakers, many of whom work in the social work field, embarked on a learning journey designed to equip them with the tools and knowledge needed to create and sustain impactful social enterprises in their local communities.

Impact Day

The training, led by Tallinn University professors Dr. Katri-Lis Lepik and Dr. Audronė Urmanavičienė, provided participants with valuable insights into the world of social entrepreneurship. Over the course of the week, participants engaged in sessions that explored innovative strategies and practical tools for building sustainable social businesses. The course focused on fostering creativity, problem-solving, and a future-oriented approach to social innovation, helping the participants rethink how they could drive meaningful change in Cyprus.

A highlight of the week was attending the Impact Day Festival, a celebrated event that brought together social entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from Baltics and Nordics. The festival provided an inspiring environment where participants had the chance to network, collaborate, and generate new ideas in the realm of social impact.

Throughout the training, the Cypriot delegation also had the opportunity to engage with industry experts, including Joseph Dunnigan, CEO of Banned Books, and David Parks, Managing Director of The Skill Mill. These connections promise to be invaluable as participants return home to develop more resilient social enterprises in Cyprus.

This enriching training course was part of a broader initiative called the Empowerment of Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (ESEE). By fostering collaboration, learning, and innovation, the project aims to strengthen the growth and sustainability of social enterprises, which are essential to addressing pressing social and environmental challenges worldwide.
