The panel discussion "How to empower film talents?" will bring together professionals across Europe in order to discuss what it takes to support and empower film talents.

Tallinn University is part of FilmEU, European Universities Alliance for Film and Media Arts since 2021 and together with partners different research and R&D projects are carried out.

C-Accelerate - "Accelerating the role of Creative Communities through the Exploration of Entrepreneurial Education and Radical creativity within European Education" - is a project that unites five different universities (FilmEU universities among them) and other partners in order to increase the innovation and entrepreneurship capacity of the higher education institutions in creative fields. C-Accelerate project is led by Aalto University and coordinated by Aija Sakova at Tallinn University.

FilmEU brings together four European Higher Education Institutions: Lusófona University (Portugal), LUCA School of Arts (Belgium), Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dún Laoghaire (Ireland) and Tallinn University (Estonia). Together, these institutions collaborate around the common objective of jointly promoting high-level education, innovation and research activities in the multidisciplinary field of Film and Media Arts and, through this collaboration, consolidate the central role of Europe as a world leader in the creative fields.

At the discussion, representatives from each FilmEU university: Manuel José Damásio, Barry Dignam, Marc Van De Walle and Elen Lotman, and a MA student Katniss Tung Cheng of “Kino Eyes: The European Film Masters” programme reflect on their current talent support practices and policies and envision the directions to move toward. The discussion will be led by Aija Sakova, a writer, literary scholar and critic, working as a Head of Business Cooperation and Knowledge Transfer at Tallinn University.
