Tallinn University Study Regulations in the upcoming academic year

From the upcoming Autumn semester, Tallinn University studies take place in contact studies. To ensure the safest possible learning environment, we expect both university staff and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Study Regulations in Autumn 2021
  •  As of the end of July, 81% of Tallinn University employees have been vaccinated. There is currently no information about students, but we have asked the EHIF for anonymized data. At the university, both staff and students can get vaccinated from 2-3 September. We will provide more detailed information to employees and students in time before the beginning of September. It is also possible to register for a vaccination during the Orientation Week.
  • Students who are vaccinated may continue to participate in the contact study even if a coronavirus infected person has participated in studies. This means that an unvaccinated student must remain in self-isolation. The vaccinated student must remain in isolation if they become ill or show signs of illness. Teachers do not have to provide online learning opportunities for those in self-isolation.
  • Indoors, students are obliged to wear a protective mask and register their participation in study activities.
  • The university aims to continue contact studies throughout the academic year, and therefore we recommend that teachers organise studies with one hundred and more participants online. Teachers can also organise online studies in smaller groups if face-to-face learning is not necessary to achieve the learning outcomes. The lecturer has no obligation to offer a hybrid form of studies.
  • The university checks the infection safety certificate of all employees. Unvaccinated university employees are obliged to wear a protective mask inside the university. In addition, the university has the right to test unvaccinated employees to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Preventive measures must be followed in all university premises: where possible, participants must be scattered, rooms must be regularly ventilated, and surfaces disinfected. It is no less important that everyone at the university washes their hands regularly.
  • Continuing education students must be prepared to have their certificate of infection safety. This also applies to those who participate in higher education studies as a continuing learner.
  • University events, sports clubs and cultural groups follow the general rules of the Government of the Republic and are responsible for controlling certificates of infection safety of their participants.
  • University's cafés for visiting by the university family members only.
  • To ensure the safety of the university family, we restrict the rental of university premises and the organisation of events to persons outside the university family.
