The purpose of the Center of Excellence in Life Course, Wellbeing, and Open Society Studies is to contribute to the research activity of the focus field of open society and governance. It does so  by integrating different research areas involving high-level, international research competence. The research focus of the center is on the connections between life courses, wellbeing, and democracy, focusing on the wellbeing of different generations and social groups at various stages of life. The scope of research includes individual characteristics, family background, resources, participation, and the institutional, political, and social contexts, as well as governance strategies.

TEHA aims to support cross-disciplinary collaboration among research groups to achieve outstanding research results and enhance competitiveness in applying for external funding. The seminar, held on October 1.-2., aims to present the research already being conducted at SOGOLAS and  to foster collaboration opportunities between SOGOLAS researchers.

Seminar objectives:

  1. To become acquainted with the high-level research and development work being conducted in TEHA’s research areas, discover new interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and encourage the formation and strengthening of personal connections between SOGOLAS researchers.
  2. To create conditions for generating strong joint project ideas and drafting applications in the future.

The two-day seminar will be held at Fra Mare Thalasso Spa in Haapsalu, and participants may attend either one day or both days. Two-way bus transportation is planned for both days, and overnight accommodation (limited capacity) is also available.
