seminaril Shinya Sugita. Ta tutvustab teemat "Holocene changes in
landscape-scale vegetation mosaic in SE Estonia: 2nd mid-term report of the
Dylan Estonia project (MTT3: 2009–2014.)".Summary: Regional
vegetation is mostly controlled by bioclimate variables. However,
plant ecologists observe, and often assume, that a spatial mosaic of soils
and topography is important for the spatial structure of plant communities
at the local- to landscape-scales (<106 – 107 m2). Because the
Holocene spatial dynamics of vegetation in those scales is little known in
Estonia and elsewhere, this project aims to evaluate the extent to which
those physical factors affects the spatiotemporal dynamics of vegetation
and land cover at the Haanja Heights, a ca. 60-km2 nature reserve in SE
Estonia. This talk is a progress report of the project, summarizing
the preliminary results, critical issues this project currently faces, and
