Sophie Imbeault´i avalik teadusseminar "From Molecules to Behaviour"

TLÜ Käitumis- ja neuroteaduste tippkeskuse juures alustas teadurina tööd Sophie Imbeault, kelle avalik teadusseminar teemal From Molecules to Behaviour toimub 22. novembril kell 14.00-16.00 (ruumis M649).

Teemast

The field of neuroscience unites many disciplines such as physiology, pharmacology, psychology, biochemistry, physics, engineering, and mathematics, in order to study brain function. Sophie Imbeault will present some of the research she has conducted during her postgraduate and postdoctoral training focusing on the birth of new cells in the brain(neurogenesis and gliogenesis) and translational models for the study of psychiatric disorders. Brain-related background will be provided so those from other scientific disciplines are welcome to attend.

Kes on Sophie Imbeault?

For the last 15 years, Sophie Imbeault has been steadily working in science laboratories across the world. She graduated Summa cum laude with a B.Sc. in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in 2002 before doing an M.Sc. in neuroscience at the University of British Columbia, Canada, followed by a Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Ottawa. She pursued postdoctoral training in behavioural neurosciences at the University of Bonn in Germany and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden before taking up her current position as a research fellow in psychoneuroimmunology and pharmacology at Tallinn University.
