Hi everyone! My name is Marine, I'm 20 and I come from France. I'm here in Tallinn for one year. As it is the end of the first semester I have decided to write about 5 important things of this semester.

My arrival in Tallinn

I landed in Tallinn and I thought "Here I am for one year". I arrived in the beginning of August because I participated to the "ESTILC Program" which was a really great way to get to know my new city. During 3 weeks, in the morning we had Estonian classes and in the afternoon activities. We even travelled in Estonia during the week-end, we saw Saaremaa and Tartu. Thanks to it I met my best friends here.

The orientations days

Being in a new country can be really overwhelming. During the orientation days, you would be given really important information. I'm really glad because everything was explained, how to have an university account, how to register to classes, ... There are also events organized by ESN Tallinn so it's also a nice way to meet new people who like you are away from home and family and are looking for new friends.

My travels

When you ask an international student why he choose Tallinn ? One of the answers is often because of its localization. Indeed, I travelled a lot. ESN Tallinn offers trips around Estonia, St Petersburg but also Lapland. I had the opportunity to go to St Petersburg, Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm, and Lapland. And I have tons of great memories.

The time spend with my friends

Tallinn is great city with a lot to offer. I spend so many good moments with my friends in nice bars, restaurants, cafes but also nightclubs. You will be friends with people from different countries, cultures, religions and that's great. I met such amazing people here and I know we will see each other again.

My university life

One of the advantages of being an Erasmus is that you can choose your classes according to what you study in your home country. I study languages so I get to improve my English and German but also learn Estonian. The university has a nice library to study so you can often see other international students studying. The university is quite modern so it's a nice environment to study.
