Short film as a notion it refers to a shorter film. In a way I see that it is a misleading concept - is it also less precious? On the other hand, it is a piece of something bigger - art experience. 2. Themes and programs At the beginning of the last century, a moving picture was a big event, but later on the same experience was not enough to the viewers. You had to create something new and interesting. Nowadays, it is hard to find people, who go and watch a 5 minute short film in a cinema, if they don't get more out of it - meeting with filmmakers, feature film or some kind of seminar. The theme is the key word that you have to consider when thinking about the audience.
